If you’ve made a mistake in a relationship, you need to know how to make it up to your girl. It’s not hard to let your lady know you’re sorry (After all, making up is a lot more fun than the alternative). As long as you come from a pure heart (and the mistake is not unforgivable), you and your main squeeze should be back on track shortly.
- Say you’re sorry. The first step in making it up to your girl is to apologize. With a sincere heart, tell her that you’re sorry. This has to be the first step, but it can also be the end of the process. The key is to be truly sorry for what happened. If you’re not, there’s no reason to apologize, and probably no reason to continue with the relationship. If you are at this stage, the best way to handle making it up is to call it off.
- Do something for her. Maybe what you’ve done is not a huge deal, but it’s caused a riff in your relationship. For example, maybe you were late picking her up from work. Or perhaps you planned on spending Sunday together but you cancelled at the last minute to watch the game with your friends (This is a worse offense). When you’re making it up to your girl, do something nice for her. Take her out to a restaurant she’s wanted to try or visit her mother. Some activities your girl chooses may not be to your liking, but when you’re righting a wrong, it’s best to go with the flow.
- Go out of your way. When you’re in the doghouse, it’s pretty easy to make a clean and swift comeback. One of the ways to make it up to your girl is to go out of your way. Express your remorse by doing something incredible. Does she need her car detailed or maybe there’s some yard work you can help with? Truly, the more you can do to get yourself back into her good graces, the better off you’ll be.
- Buy a gift. It’s cheesy and ingratiating, but men around the world do it. Buy a gift as a way to make it up to your girl. This tactic works well the first time you’ve done something to hurt her feelings. It even works the first few times you’ve been wrong. Down the line, however, the gifts lose their appeal (unless you’re with a gold digger, who expects presents no matter what).
